Submitted for publication in 1987 by Eileen Woodhead of the Canadian National Historic Parks Service.
During the 1980s the Metal Unit of the Material Culture Section, Archaeology Research Division, of the Canadian Parks Service, maintained a reference file identifying marks found on base-metal artifacts found in Canada. This publication is a selection of marks recorded on that file which relate primarily to tableware items, dating from the late 18th century to about 1900. As many of the items were produced in Great Britain, Germany, France and the United States, this is a valuable resource for those interested in identifying makers located in the UK.
